So we had a really fun Labor Day weekend....the weather was great ....the water was glass...the guys got in some good wake boarding....the food good....we had Sandy & McKenzie....Cassandra and baby Kathy and Brian and honey....Tyson and friends....

The water came up on the Lake about 20 feet or more so we got our Island back it was great be able to play there again!

We even got the Grandpa in the water....took lots of strong arms to get him in and out but the guys were awesome! yah
Good time was had by all......nothing is better than family and the lake! thank you family for a great weekend!

What to do on a hot day!

Okay so we had a nice family day out on the lake....we took the party boat and the ski boat (for the tough ones) it was a perfect day lots of nice water....good swimming and lots of fun with the little ones...Randy & Carrie and kids....Brian...Melissa & Stephen and Catherine....and our special guest Cassandra & little Carlisle.....what fun to finally met our little Great Grandson...and WOW Kathy had the day off and could join us Yeah!...also had Kathy & Melissa's friend Julie and daughter GiGi....great day!

Swimming was wonderful the water is just the right temperature really refreshing!
While cruising around all the little ones took their nap....couldn't believe we had four all go down at once! Andrew, Carlisle, Cambria, Catherine.....sleep sweet babies while we have a quite rest lol

So here is our laughing Carlisle.....what a fun little guy he is....just smiles all the time...so loved holding him!

So fun to have Cassandra spend a few days with us....come again !
Last our darling little Cambria she didn't pick up on the Carlisle thing you know smile all the time....we don't see her too much now so she was a little unhappy.....we love her anyway!
So a good day was had by all....nothing like a day on the lake!!

Roses, roses , roses aaahh!

Okay so here is the story......I come from a long line of rose lovers.....I grew up always having fresh roses in this vase which is in the picture....now this is not just any vase...it is Dutch Delft which is hand painted pottery....this vase is probably one hundred years old...my mother brought it from Holland and always had fresh picked roses which my dad grew....so now I have the vase and yes even in the desert I have been able to grow some mighty fine flowers...this is the best year I have had .....I got a little teary when I arranged the roses in this special vase it took me back to very fond memories...so children remember how precious memories are of our loved ones...so share this moment with me and maybe someday one of you will fill this vase with special roses! thank you God for the beauties of the earth!

It was so good to see him and he still had the missionary spirit with him....wonderful day lots of good food and lots of family....doesn't get better than that.....welcome home Jason

Okay so I am a little late but wanted to make sure you all get to see our newest addition of beautiful Great Grandchildren....so on the 10th of April we all traveled to Kingman and attended the blessing of our beautiful little Cambria Kay Barker.....
She is so sweet even Great Grandpa couldn't resist he asked to hold her so fun!

A great day was had by all ...Welcome sweet Cambria....we love you....It is such a blessing to be able to hold and love on these precious sweet children that are sent to us from our Heavenly Father! Families are Forever!

Okay so Kathy did not work today and come over and played and put together all the Great Grand kids .....she got pictures from everywhere like facebook and family blog....so here is the plan....look at the pictures aaaah! cute huh? then what we want you to do is on the comment put their birthdate so we can upgrade our info....fun huh? Now Dawn we need pictures of the other four and dates okay? So we feel so blessed to be able to be in these sweet babies lives and I hope they will remember us for a long time to come.....love those great grandkids! Keep them coming children!

The Mighty Colorado!

Here is the might Colorado River....it looks real peaceful and calm....
New here is one of the rafts then Indians use on their river trips ....they would take them all the way to the lake and pull then out at our boat launch at South Cove....And here is the new launch the Indians had made so they could pull out there rafts here instead of the lake....now the reason they made this new launch is because in one little spot the river became too mighty and they had lots of trouble getting past the rapids that developed because the water level became to low.
So Melissa & Stephen and company took a hike up the river to see the rapids that was causing all this trouble and wow we could see why...awesome!
I would not want to be on the raft going through this....the top right was not quite so rough but still pretty scarey!
The left side was the worst...if you look right in front of the white water you can see the big whirlpool ...you would really have to row hard to miss it....the water was fierce!
Lots of big boulders.... the water made so much noise we could hear long before we got there....it was a wonderful hike and a wonderful witness of nature.....wonderful day ....wonderful hike.....thank you God for the beauties of the earth!

So being Monday and suffering from depression etc. Kathy, Melissa, Crystal and myself went to lunch at our local little cafe and had wonderful Quiche and salad. Then we decided to take a drive to the lake....it was one of those ahhhh days....It was warm oh how good the sun felt and there was not a ripple on the water....you could hardly tell where the water and the land came together....thank you God for such a beautiful day...is Spring just around the corner????hope so!

WE WOKE UP TO SNOW IN MEADVIEW!!

So just as I was going to bed last night I was turning off the lights and locking up I looked outside to check the temperature and lo and behold it was snowing.....we got an inch in just a half an hour....so of course I watched for awhile cause I love to watch it snow....finally I went to bed with over two inches on the ground.....usually when it snows in Meadview it melts pretty quick but this morning it was still there....beautiful!
Now here is someting interesting these animal footprints were by my back door then when back up the hill... it is an animal paw about three to four inches....what I suspect it was probably our bobcat that we see once in awhile coming thru the yard...fun!

Believe it or not it is really pretty in the desert when it snows....the down side is you sure wouldn't want to go sleding here lol!

So this is our big adventure for the day....Kathy was driving a bus load for work and couldn't get through had to turn around and go back to Vegas...roads icy....buses slid off the road...roads closed for pretty much the day....ah yes a day of snow in the desert.....good is doesn't happen often!

So here is the story.....I had a paper route and Santa was one of the carriers that I used to see every night....during the holidays he would come in every night dressed like Santa....I told him we could use him on Christmas Eve because all my family was coming for Christmas.....Well much to my surprise he drove up in his RED PICKUP the kids were all in the family room and Holly saw him and just squeeled over and over again "It's Santa"....the kids were so excited they asked him many questions, gave him cookies and milk, tugged at his beard (which was real) told him what gifts they wanted and of course gave him lots of hugs......At Christmas time it is so fun to reflect on times past and remember the special times in our lives....this was for sure one of many special times......there is nothing like a child really believing in Santa....Christmas after all is about loving and giving and being happy......It is wonderful when shared with those you love and remembering the one whose Love this is all about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.....Merry Christmas family may his atoning Love be with you today and through the coming year....Love to you all!

Okay so here is the story.....Grandpa's Uncle Paul Peterson had a daughter named Debbie she is 5 years older than Kathy....when they were young we would gather at the Peterson home and Uncle Paul and wife Claudine and daughter would be there....when Grandma Peterson died we lost contact with them and Debbie got on Ancestry.com and found us....we have not seen her since she was a child ....about 50 years....she lives in England with her husband....has a daughter in Nebraska....well she flew out to Las Vegas and spent the day with us.....what a wonderful time we had with her...and yah she is a Peterson! ....she has done extensive genealogy on the Peterson line absolutely fantastic .....we also shared some great picture of the greats....just can't say enough how much we loved having her with us again!
Kathy also worked really hard finding what genealogy she could so we could colaborate the two so that was really fun....we also came up with another Peterson name that is working now on one of our lines so we e-mailed her and we heard from her and connected her to us...just too exciting....when Kathy and Debbie were young everyone always said they looked so much alike so here they are now...............

and here they are kids..........what do you think?

Well family I hope you have really enjoyed this blog because what has occured here is some wonderful things.....wonderful memories.....family love .....and genealogy on the move.....thanks to Debbie for all of these ....we are looking forward to her return which might be next year.....so family welcome a long lost relative!

GRANDMA HAD A BIRTHDAY....WOO HOO!

So here is the story....I went up to Burley, Id and spent the weekend with some very dear friends....we have always spent our birthdays together because we all have b-days in October, however we haven't been together in years so this was really an occasion .....shared a lot of memories and of course laughed most of the weekend....great start for my birthday!

So now on my actual birthday Kathy took us up to the Stratosphere Tower for dinner....of my gosh what a awesome view....had a window table awesome.....the tower takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to make a complete turn so we kept looking at different sites couldn't find the temple.
Dad and I waiting for dinner....took a long time....they didn't want you to miss any sites! While we were waiting the moon came up....oh it was so pretty we couldn't get the picture to come out though.
After dinner we went outside it was cold and windy but still beautiful.
Had to put the Grandpa in a wheel chair and we had a great pusher.....Bruce! thank you Bruce good job!
Here's the gang....you know what I always say "were making a memory" well we certainly did and I can only say Thank you sweet daughter for the wonderful memory you gave us....It was wonderful love you!

So here is our newest member of the family....yes handsome Landon David....we were able to be here in Utah to be a part of his blessing.....it is so neat to have great grand children and to have them get to know us....doesn't get better than that! We love you Landon!
So here is our new boy got to hold him in church and rock him to sleep....sweet!
And of course got to have that 3 generation picture nice smile boys!

So family it was a great day ...Landon David Peterson was blessed and Josh gave his farewell and testimony...how blessed we are to have these events take place and I know as a family we will all wish Josh a wonderful and successful mission.....and a big welcome hug for Landon.....family blessings.... doesn't get better than that!

LABOR DAY FAMILY FUN!

Okay so Autumn covered most of the pictures for the week end so I won't try to put the same ones so what I am going to do is share some thoughts.

So here is the story.....I have had so many good years skiing and now I can't do it so it is really hard to watch everyone doing what I love so much..I really miss the rush of a good ski on nice glassy water....but oh well memories will have to do.....so here is what I do now I have my nifty wave runner not quite the same rush but lots of fun.

So what does one do when not on the toys .....we swim and stay cool!
Or you might just jump on the toy and go see what the young folks are doing......
Yah it's Melissa learning to wake board go Melissa!
And then there is Kenzie doing a good job.....and yes it is fun to ride along and and scare them and have fun with the wake......
Here is the parting shot.....Autumn took this one I just love it....nothing finer than fishing with Grandpa....Hunter was really excited to catch fish.....so this is what it is all about .....it's about family being together and having fun and making memories....doesn't get better than that. Love you guys it was a great weekend!

New member of the family....yah Johnny's wedding!

Here is the building where we were .....it is a wedding manor really beautiful with lots of tropicals, waterfalls, nice patio.....really pretty!
This is where the ceremony took place....Shayla came down the stairs really a beautiful bride.
Wedding cake really pretty however I pigged out on the pastries yummy!
Now this is one of the most interesting features of the wedding.....people that came put their cards in the bird cage which probably had money gifts in them....so here is the interesting part....a women came in and signed the register then went to the bird cage and took out all the cards and put them in her purse and walked out! Fortunately someone noticed her and they ran out and caught her and called the police....so she ended up in the own personal bird cage...JAIL....good thing she was caught because there was a sizeable amount of money that our new couple would have lost!
Here is Mr. & Mrs John Daniel Peterson Jr. Very happy couple!
And here is none other than the proud parents you know the ones that have to pick up the tab!lol
This one I couldn't resist....this stole the show she was so beautiful don't you agree!
and of course the old folks aaahhhh!
We were served dinner....boy was it good and dessert was even better we all went on a sugar high! Sure won't tell my doctor.

Jasper can swim......yah!

Okay so here is the story......Randy and Carrie went to California and left Melissa and me in charge of good ole Jasper.....well Jasper leads a kinda sheltered life so we thought it would be cool to introduce him to the lake and a good swim so we loaded him in the truck and headed for the lake......well he has never ridden in the back of a pickup so I sat with him....my gosh I felt like an Indian lol....he was nervous but did fine sucking up his drooling etc. then he got a little more nervous and peed....oh well he was on the other side so I was safe lol....anyway when we got to the water he LOVED IT! he followed me in and just took off then he would go to shore and come back in again

Catherine and Melissa we out in the deep water and he kept going out to them ....we think Jasper was checking on Catherine to make sure she was safe......good Jasper
We finally just took off his leash and let him go....good dog ....hehad a ball....we will do this again I'm sure.......right Jasper? wooof woooof (he said yes) good day was had by all.

Holiday weekend! No fuss!

Okay so on these kind of weekends we locals don't mess much with the big stuff (boats etc)so Granddaughter Melissa and Grandpa and of course myself packed lunch and sat down by the water and watched all the crazies come and go(smile) Just a nice relaxing day, lots to laugh at and a real good swim. Doesn't get better than that.
Melissa and sweet little Catherine....she is really a little fish!
Grandma having fun with the little fish....hard to believe she was once such a little girl....our miracle preemie....she is really a very busy 2 year old now. fun fun fun!
Okay so hope all you guys have a good weekend with lots of fun and of course always remember why the holiday and all those who gave their lives so we can be free.....we live in the greatest country in the world!

Happy Spring...were blooming! yah!

Okay so here is the story....we know for sure that spring is here when we start seen these yellow flowers along the road ....they line the hiway going into town it is really neat they and in bushes on both sides of the road just great....dad always asks are they poppies! lol
Also all the hills around us have these bushes full of yellow flowers and you will also see bushes of tiny orange ones....the bloom for quite some time....wow
Then mixed in with that you get some coral looking stuff that is all bushy but yet it is pretty when you see bunches of it.....
My favorite of all is the cactus that just gets tons of buds on them and blooms these really bright pink flowers that are really gorgeous they are all over
So you see God loves the desert too because he has really put some very pretty things out here...no we don't have grass and lots of trees but I am planting them and maybe one day there will be lots...it all starts with one at a time...just like life if you want to accomplish great things you can and it just might start with a small effort a little at a time ! Love you all

HEY FAMILY....BLOOMING JOSHUA'S

Okay family so here is some neat trivia for you....we have some real special stuff going on here in God's desert.....THE JOSHUA'S ARE BLOOMING WOW! Now you may not think this is amazing but it really is......they do not bloom every year only when conditions are just right! There has to be enough rain fall and it has to happen at just the right time and we also have to have some winter freeze....so everything happened just as it was suppose to they are beginning to bloom it is really neat. They start out looking sorta like a really big artichoke like these then......

when they start blooming they break out into a whole bunch of white petals......

with a little touch of purple at the top and they last for several weeks then the wind comes.....yah blows all the petals away and then we wait another couple of years to see them again! cool huh?
One last bit of trivia....the name Joshua tree came from Mormon settlers who crossed the Mojave desert back in the 1850's or there about...the unique shape reminded them of a biblical story in which Joshua reached his hands up to the sky in prayer....how about that we named a tree! Nature at it finest ! Thank You God!

So what do you do in the winter in the desert......well you head for the lake....yah that is what we did .....we packed a lunch picked up the grandkids and sat in the nice warm sun .....and yes the grandkids went in the water and had a great time. We only have one water picture forgot to save the other on the phone. Was just a nice warm day till the clouds came in then it got cold so we went home. great time was had by all!
Check out the glass ....sure make we dream of water skiing...oh how I wish I could have done that. Seems like the little ones never can stay out of the water. Too cute!

Okay so this is definitely the picture of the year....to have so many sweet spirits join us this year was wonderful and to have them all together a miracle in these busy days...what a joy it is to be alive and be able to hug each one of these precious great grand kids...thank you God!
So we have just celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ ....it is such a special time of year...it is not just about presents and lights and decorations it is about the love of the son of God for all mankind....it is so wonderful and beautiful ...it is peace...it is the peace which brings comfort and sustains and blesses each day of our lives...our dear family may we always have love in our hearts for the Savior and for each other....this is our wish for each of you this coming year....never lose sight of the love of family and may the new year bring many happy days....We love you all so much and wish we could be with everyone all the time.

Okay so here we are doing our big ride...John & Wendy came for Thanksgiving weekend had a wonderful time..yah doing the ride thing that I love....well we were not even on the trail yet and with Nathan on the back I hit a small tree stump and pow! off I went...this time it was bad I got smacked on the tail bone....which one week later I am still in agony....ouch ouch it really hurts...but Grandma is tough I still did the ride....Nathan was not hurt he landed on all fours.
So this is our big picture of the day Nathan drove the quad for the first time ....he was a great driver!
So here is the big guys.....Brian taking them to the mine on the quads.....not bats today to bite them....ooooooh!
This is our BYU fan getting ready to watch the game.....maybe.... she is the busy one!
All done riding and watching the game....what a game....notice the red shirt in the crowd...yah your right a traitor in the group but........Yeah! BYU WON! It was a great weekend having all the Petersons with us... being together with family is great. The Best! We are truly grateful for our wonderful family!

Funeral for Aunt Donna in Santa Maria

Ah yes we had to take the picture for posterity....take a look kids great huh?

So as you all know our Aunt Donna passed away October 20, 2009 of cancer. The funeral was this last weekend. Kathy and I traveled to California to attend. It was sad but it was great to be with family especially those we don't see very much. It sure didn't seem right not to see Aunt Donna with Uncle Pete you never saw one with out the other. The greatest blessing we have is that we are a "Forever Family" and I know for a surety they will be together again!

What a wonderful weekend we had....traveled to Utah and attended the wedding of Gary & Sara who were sealed for Time & Eternity in the Bountiful Temple....It was wonderful to be there and share in their beautiful day!

We were so surprised Friday when Randy announced that Tyson & Autumn were coming that night and then they all arrived for breakfast and to my wonderful surprise Gary walked in with his sweetie just great to have them all....so this is our weekend group....beautiful yah!
And nothing is more beautiful then to have the Grandkids....however church was a little noisy ha ha.....so much fun and what a blessing to be able to be around to enjoy them....thank you kids!

Now you must realize we didn't sit in church the whole weekend.....that's right we spent most of the time out on the lake and those picture will be coming.....tired tonight will post them tomorrow!

So this is the man of the house....he is always checking to make sure the girls don't get into trouble! He also like to eat their food.
Nappie time for Lily....she always snuggles up to Grandpa's armpit while he naps...oooops we woke her up!
Mini is just that....when you come near her she will always roll over so you can scratch her tummy! ....she is just sweet and lovable.
Now here is our intense one zipper....she always has her eye open for anything that moves...and if it moves she zips and catches it before you can blink your eye.
Lilly up from her nap love to write letters....the only thing she never uses paper! ...just table etc.
Then when she is done she chews off the eraser so to make everything permanent ....smarty!
Then there is our Susie below....her answer to all this is no ! never! never! will you take my picture my hair is a mess......and under the bed she goes!

Yes Clouds, Clouds, and more Clouds

So here is the deal....I really love clouds! So we are getting this really big storm....lots of wind, thunder and not much rain.....out here in the desert you really get the clouds.
So clouds really have lots of things to look at....when all you guys were young and we were traveling do you remember all the times we spent figureing out what we saw in the clouds?
Now what do you see here you guys ....maybe a dog or dogs?????
There is for sure dogs in this one yah ? how fun is this
Ah yes the storm cometh as I type lots of thunder just what everyone wanted when all the visitors come to the lake tee hee! sends them home real quick!
Check this one out do you see the coyote in the clouds? And of course after every storm the rainbow and boy did we get a rainbow....I just couldn't get the whole thing but it was a complete rainbow , the brightest colors I have ever seen and then a second one started above it...God is really a great artist!

Okay so here is the story....the time...late....got company coming tomorrow so I was trying to get everything done and was hurrying and turned around real quick and bam! hit the wall behind me right on the corner....bump was 1 inch high....came up real fast ....was hard to put ice on it ....moral of the story....instead of haste makes waste....it's haste make bumps!

So here is how the weekend went. Sandy and the girls made it up also Kenzie brought a friend...we just fell in love with her ....we want her to come back.....so os course when you're in Meadview in may you head for the water....lots of people Saturday but Monday was just about as perfect as it could be everybody went home and we had a great day on the water.
Now this is our new toy....really moves ....lots of fun love it!....okay so something weird happened.....I was typing under the next picture of McKenzies birthday and the picture disappeared!!!!!so well we had her birthday which was fun to have her here for that. sorry Mckenzie!
On Sunday we took a nice little drive in the desert ....a drive that is on the Quads....so I introduced Sandy to my world of Bling Bling hats which I always were on my Quad rides really catches peoples attention ....Sandy decided she really liked the hat ...how about it ? cute huh?

This one is inside the Gold mine you go back about 800 feet and you will find some real cool stalagtites...we just had one little problem....we had a bat that kept flying at us ugh! lots of screams.
So that was our very pleasant weekend ....the desert in bloom......the sunshine above....and...
the water was fine....doesn't get better than that what a great world....so leaving with this thought....THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE AREN'T THINGS....IT'S PLAYING WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE!

The Man of the Day

So take a good look at this guy.....does he look like a guy who could inspire people?.....well guess what the Lord thinks so! We had a wonderful day Sunday but also very surprised....Our wonderful Randy was called to be (hold your breath) SECOND COUNSELOR IN THE BRANCH PRESIDENCY! Cool huh? The Stake President stated that he knew without a doubt it was a call from God.....so now he is my Superior in branch....imagine the Queen of Everything having to obey my Grandson.....well guess what I sustained him! we are all really proud of him and I am sure we as a family will all be praying for him! Good luck Randy we love you!

It has been quite awhile since we have been able to go to the beach with the family well here we are enjoying the wonderful beach and the days were wonderful!
There is no one who enjoys this beach more than me UNLESS you say SANDY! she is always the last one off the beach at the end of the day and usually the last one to leave to go home!
What a wonderful way to spend the day just sitting around and watching the little ones play or reading and eating yah!

This one says it all .....how neat it was to have all our Great grandchildren together at once...wasn't exactly easy getting this picture in fact I think we made a memory...what beautiful babies they all are....fun! fun! This one is for posterity for sure!

We went to Utah for the Mission Farewell for our big handsome Jason here he is ready to go out the door to begin a wonderful two years in Switzerland. What a great day!

So I had this great day with Tami, Melissa and the greatgrandkids . We went to Thankgiving Point to the Animal Farm where busy Riley threw fed goats, sheep, and horses corn. Funny to watch because he really threw the corn at the animals. So fun to see how these precious kids have grown.
Here is our sweet little Catherine our miracle girl.....of my how she has grown....she wasn't too happy to have anyone hold her she is in "I love my Mommy the best mode!"
And here is our smiley young lady who is really growing up TIFFANY......we had fun yesterday we did our nails...everyone painted nails like french tip and pretty flowers fun!

Okay so here is my day. Randy and Carrie had to go to town so I took care of the kids for them well the day was so nice that we decided to go down to the lake and throw rocks which is what they love to do. It was great the only hitch is that Kimmie's diaper loaded up with water and fell off and she ended up mooning everyone! (she had a skirt on) Had to be there!

So we got a free day at the Grand Canyon and finally got to do the sky walk this is what its looks like wasn't as great as I had expected was kinda weird when you looked down.
Dad and I yoked together! Wow really true March 9 it will be 55 years!
Cookie and Chuck came up for the weekend and were able to go also.....this is one of the good views of the canyon.
Got a little hung up thought I was going to die!
Oh my gosh ! Thought I would die.....this is probable the only kind of coffin I will be able to afford so I tried it on for size and ordered one.
Thats all folks ....had a great day with all the family nice to get out in the nice warm sunshine and enjoy some of Gods great creations!

Gosh you never can figure the weather.....I was really having a wonderful week sitting out on the deck and eating lunch enjoying the warm sunshine and my friend saying..."time for a good quad ride when are we going?" So I say maybe saturday.....well really ticked me off because it rained all day....got really cold.....wind blowing hard....snow on the rim.....and I am thinking is winter back I thought spring was on the way......ah I can hear you now.."It's only February!" yah but I live in the desert and it is suppose to start getting warm....so any way I was just venting because I have this great love of riding free in the hills and the breeze blowing in my face and saying "Thank you God for this beautiful day." So instead I will say "Thank you God for my nice warm house.! That's it folks maybe the sun will shine tomorrow.

How about that....Grandma with "Mr. President" now kids I can hear you groaning! The story is this...... he wanted the "Queen of everything" to be in his cabinet actually he wanted me to be Secretary of State but I told him I had to much to do with my church callings so I told him to give it to Hillary she needed the job....not buying my story?....Well actually it is Inauguration time and I just wanted to say to you my family that maybe you didn't vote for him but he is our President of the greatest country in the world....I hope you always remember how blessed you are to live in this country and have the freedom you have....you had Grandparents that didn't have that freedom and gave up all they had to come to America so that they could be a mormon. As a family let us pray for him and our country that he will be able to make it better.....I am in awe at all the things that are happening with this inauguration and know that living the gospel will make our lives good no matter what happens in the world around us....life may not always be fair but it is GOOD! We love you all....be happy, be good, be faithful...love one another!

So how do you like my new television......well here is the story....Randy came over and we played some real fun games on the Wii (can you see the Wii game down in the right corner) well then he said he had to go home and I said yah I got lots of things to do so he left and I picked up the Wii controller and decided to bowl one more game and I was determined to get a strike and I threw my best curve and I got my strike alright ....the controller went right into the TV and went splat....took me 5 minutes to recover I was so stunned....I know what you are thinking and it ticks me off!..no I didn't have the strap on.....I was so upset that I then began to bang the controller on anything that was near me and guess what the controller never broke but the picture on the TV was shattered....I then called Randy and told him he needed to come over right away.....when he came in the house and saw me and the TV he bent over laughing ...I told him he was being cruel to Grandma and he laughed harder...you have the picture don't you......and I can just bet y0u are bent over laughing too....well when he stopped laughing he said he would drive us to Sams club to get a new one nice isn't he.....so that was our wonderful New Years Eve...a wonderful and exciting ride to the big city to buy that beautiful TV you see in the picture, dinner at Golden Coral with Randy & Carrie and the children then home to set it up so I can play Wii again ha ha ha......oh yah I have glued the Wii strap to my wrist the only problem is doing dishes and such the thing dangles and bangs into things but oh well it won't hit the new TV ........I guess you might say we closed 2008 with a real crash bang! oh yah I think I made a MEMORY wow!

Our Christmas.......ho hum

So this was our holiday.....about a week before Christmas Dad was not feeling well and it really scared us so we took him to emergency and they said he had pneumonia so they admitted him that night....he was in the hospital for almost a week ugh! ....so do I need to say more...kinda put a crimp into Christmas and the holidays....we were suppose to go to American Fork but had to stay home and take care of the sick one!....so we did have a nice time with all of the family that lives here...course we do have to put Christmas where it should be ....about Christs birth and of course family....we do wish every season could be with everyone but when you get old that is not possible....we do love y0u all and think of you often! ....Dad is doing much better now.....our Christmas present was a Wii exercise board.....guess what... we are going to get his butt moving (giggle)

So we had this great and unusual snow and of course we had to check it out....so Kathy and I took off for the hills ....what a ride just slipping and sliding up in the hills yah!.... the view was awesome ...what you are seeing is storm clouds at sunset.....just a little cold but just can't get enough of the riding ....grrrreat!

It has been a great year for us to have so many great grandchildren ( 6 so far). We had a wonderful trip to California to visit Sandi and Kens home in Temecula. It was great because all the grandkids were there also Kens parents and brother and best of all we got to see our newest great grandchild Wyatt (Tyson & Autumn new son)......he is soooooooo cute. Had a great dinner...... played games..... had lots of laughs. There is nothing better than being with family!

I had a wonderful dream come true with my trip to Boston and New York City where I was able to go to Ellis Island where my parents come to this country in 1929. What a joy it was and very emotional. I am so grateful to them for their sacrifice and that I was able to grow up in this wonderful country...AMERICA!

I didn't know until just now that i can blog on this blog also. i thought only grandma and grandpa could. SURPRISE! well we had a fun halloween. center street here in provo does trick or treating on halloween during the day so kids dont' have to do it night and also so that businesses can advertise so people know what's around. we took riley up center street but we didn't make it back down because once we saw the pet store that is all riley wanted to do. who cares about candy when you can go look at turtles and fish!!! it was good fun though. now we are busy getting holiday work done so we can just enjoy the holidays. that's all for now!

Family Time

Yes, there was a bike ride at the family reunion and we did stop to play at the playground. Everyone had a great time riding the bikes. One event that suprised everyone was McKenzie being chased by a moose, yep, a moose. We even had a repair crew following up with parts and pieces, but nothing could fix Jasons bike....it died, twice. We all ate lunch at the Hogie Yogie. Yummy! What a beautiful day it was. Then there was swimming at the pool and dinner and games after that.
